rough vocal mixes up

for the first time in four years...Izalith has vocals. rough mixes can be heard on our MySpace site, and once we have the album released, we'll have a nice, pretty Bandcamp site. until then...it's to the whore we prostrate. these new mixes display Cailin Audrey's ghostly mantras.

we're getting closer to the release of the much-postponed 'Gnomon'. playing with quite bizarre packaging ideas...stay plugged in.

a brief statement

nothing worth listening to is being signed to major labels. there are still the few odd bands that were grandfathered in when every record exec was trying to sign the next Nirvana, The Clash, etc., that are either making good work, distress calls back to their former glories, or downright pathetic attempts to remain relevant as opposed to remaining honest, but otherwise...anything that matters in music right now can be found on an independent label, and you will have to find them. go look for some music, and stay away from the RIAA. let it die in peace.

Collaborations and rants

What must a person do to find a pack of GHS Boomers in Western Washington? Seriously. Four stores, no luck. Anyway.

Slowly working on vocals for Gnomon, and Izalith is currently working on a collaboration with Oneirogenic; very open-ended, similar to the direction Izzy will be going in for the new material. Tony has really been inspiring us lately, and it's a real pity he's in Idaho and not Seattle...tsk tsk. Should be out by May. We're excited about the new work, as well as polishing old stuff. It seems as though much of our music, Gnomon in particular, have all been so labored. Now we can see if they walk on their own.

Recording at the Masonic Lodge tomorrow. All improv. Abstract. We should come back with some really crazy sounds. Thanks to David Sylvian for the inspiration, and Franz for the space.
